Sorsae Macch( Fish in mustard sauce)


Bengalies are perhaps the greatest food lovers in the Indian subcontinent. Their staple diet is Rice and Fish. This is one of my favourite dish.

Ingredients:

1 kg Rohu or Katla fish or any fish that is available.

25 gms black mustard seeds.

25 gms yellow mustard seeds.

Salt to taste.

Termeric poweder.

Green chillies ( according to your taste).

75 gms mustard oil for cooking.

1 tsp black cumin.

Method:

1) Grind mixed mustard seeds and green chillies with water and make a paste.

2) Cut the fish, rub salt and turmeric. Marinate it with this paste and with 25 gms of mustard oil.

3) Take a fry pan, put 50 gms of mustard oil.

4) Put black cumin seeds, then put marinated fish and saute it slowly.

5) Put 1 cup of water for boiling.

6) Garnish it with green chillies and serve it with boiled rice.
